Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

♾️ “Blood of the covenant is thicker than water of the womb. Living in a world where I could probably establish blood relations with many, I found such a true sister in one, that not even family by blood would come close to. Nishu is the best behna one can have. Every single moment with her was so fun. Every holi we met, the Rakhi she tied reinforcing our bond, the laughter with no reason, yet the smile being enough a reason for me to laugh. What is Nishu not? Everything is better with her. My happiness would grow tenfold when I would look at her smiling for me. My frustration from the mess that my life is, vanished when she was around. She was there to know when I started liking someone, and there to console me when I would be single by their choice. I feel immature mentioning this right now, but her maturity when I needed it, and her childlike innocence when that was required, both stay in my memories, and play back in front of my eyes. Nishu is not just a sister, she's a motivation. Her dance in society functions which I still have recordings of, her dribbling around her basketball, it all seems so in reach yet suddenly so profoundly far. It's not like she isn't with me anymore, because she forever will be, but I just can't accept the reality, so I tell myself she is watching from far. Nishu is my family when my family starts drifting, Nishu is my family when everything is going fine. Nishu is eternally going to be my family, and my one in infinity sister. Love you behna, if you somehow read this.”
— Shourya 💖(Nishika’s Soul Brother)

💖 *“There are people who come into your life quietly, and then there was Nishika, my elder sister, my best friend, and my everything. A person to whom I told everything, without ever thinking twice. With her, nothing ever felt heavy. Even the simplest moments, just sitting together, talking about our lives, laughing over the most random things, or debating our completely opposite opinions, became memories I now hold closest to my heart. She had this way of making everything feel lighter, like no matter what was going on, things would somehow be okay. She wasn’t just someone I spent time with, she was someone who understood me without explaining much. In her presence, I could just be myself, no hesitation, just me.

Being her Bharatanatyam partner is something I will always be proud of 💃✨, something that felt less like practice but our gossip session 🤍. Every step we matched, every rhythm we followed, every performance we did wasn't just about dancing. It felt more like us, where we were sharing our bond, our understanding, our silent conversations through expressions and movements. With her, even mistakes turned into laughter 😂 and tiring rehearsals turned into moments I never wanted to end.

She was someone whom I danced with, sat in the bus 🚌, roamed around the society on random days, talking about any topics we wanted to and lastly the person whom I laughed with so much 💕. And now all those moments are replayed in my mind, over and over, like pieces of a life that still feels incomplete without her. Hope you are reading this Nishu 🤍”*
— Tanishtha 🌸

💖 *“Dearest Neechi,

I still can’t believe you are gone. School doesn’t feel the same anymore. I miss eating food the whole day with you, laughing until our stomachs hurt like crazy and moreover, I miss my best friend. I love talking to you about anything. I still remember that when I first met you, I thought you were mean and you thought I was mean. But you weren’t. You were the sweetest person ever! 🤍

We bonded so hard in 8th. That math class, AV room? The best thing ever. That class found my soulmate. We were inseparable since then. Every teacher was fed up of us. We would talk and talk and just talk about literally everything whether it concerned us or not.

Grade 8 trip was the best. I loved it the most because you were there. Legit same bed pe soye aur itne laat mare the tumne, but I lowkey enjoyed it 😂. Athletics with you was also fun. And being together in punishment also. I love singing altu-faltu songs with you and laughing so wildly ki sab humko judge karte the yeh ladkiya pagal hogai hain. Aur Sunita ma’am toh pareshaan thi humari hich aur Lal Mirch se. Dus so gossted!! Tumhare inside jokes toh bhai alag hi level ke aur uizz W.

I remember ki jab bhi canteen mein jate, tu ek coffee lete aur saath mein peete the and you just loved flowers toh I would pluck one and give it to you and that smile of yours was so cute and then you used to hug me 🌸

These beautiful memories with you are the best treasures of my life. I just wished I had talked more with you, hugged you tight and say goodbye properly. I hate the fact that we never got to get our matching permanent bracelets and other plans for the future. You will always be my best friend and no-one can replace you.

Always loving you,
Devyanshi [tumhari moti lassi]”* 💕

💖 “I have so many memories with her . I remember when we had our Bharatnatyam exam and I was so scared she left all her revision and helped me in revising my taals. She always helped me whenever I needed her. During the gujrat trip we were always together, we used to sit together, eat together and we also got ready together when it was our ethnic night. We made so many funny jokes and I still remember those. I love Nishika sm”
— Aadhya Bhardwaj 🌷

✨ “The first time I met Nishika was during athletics practice. I saw her running, and she was amazing—I wondered how someone could be so energetic. Then we started talking every day and became friends. Over time, we grew very close to each other. She always supports me. We made so many beautiful memories on the ground and in the school corridor. I love Nishika so much. Miss you, Nishika”
— Suhani 💕

🌼 “My happiest memories with her are from Founder’s Day,
how we used to sit together, smiling and cracking jokes and laughing so hard like nothing else mattered.
I still remember our lunch breaks, when we would meet and she would give me those warm hugs.
Whenever I wasn’t in the best mood, she always tried her best to make me smile, in her own way and somehow, she always did.
She was one of the sweetest people I’ve ever known. Even if we weren’t the closest all the time, she was always there, spreading kindness and comfort to everyone around her. She had this wonderful way of making people feel seen, happy, and at ease just by being there.
I feel so lucky to have known her, even through these small but precious and happiest moments. I will carry these memories with me forever.”
— Siddhiksha 🤍

🌷 *“still remember Nishika as a very cheerful and warm-hearted person who always brought happiness into school life. We shared many small but special moments together—laughing during breaks, talking between classes, and enjoying those simple school days. She had a way of making everything feel lighter and more fun.

Even now, those memories bring a smile, and it’s hard to believe they are only memories. I will always remember her kindness, her smile, and the happiness she spread around. miss u so much, love u always”*
— Pratigya 🌈

☀️ “One of the most vivid memories I have with nishika are from 3rd grade. That's when we first became friends and sat together all the time. I can recall her being our class monitor with the utmost sincerity a seven year old can hold. She was a great friend to me ever since. Whether small talks in the school corridors or lunch break chats, all these instances were full of bliss and content. She was certainly sunshine in a person and will never fade from my heart. I hope in another life, I get to know her and be her friend again because I will forever love and cherish, her and her memories”
— Manaswita 🌻

💃 *“Nishika has always been such a sweet and cheerful person. I have so many beautiful memories with her at school. Whether it was laughing during free periods, helping each other with studies, or just talking about random things, she made every moment special

She was really talented and especially amazing at dance. It was always a joy to watch her perform, and she truly impressed everyone with her talent. Along with that, her kind nature and warm smile made everyone around her feel happy and comfortable.

She will always hold a special place in my heart, and I will cherish all the memories I have with her forever.

Thank you for giving me the chance to share my memories of her”*
— Nishtha ✨

😂 “My fav memory def was teasing her i would steal her bottle and play along till she realizes that her bottle is vanished and then she would be like dede chup chaap and i would laugh so yea my fav memory was def this”

🏡 “Nishika was one of my first friend I ever had in school she absolutely awesome in school she was so fun that I even forgot I was new to school she made me feel that I was at home not at a new school i am really thankful for her friendship”
— Hasini 🌸

🏀 *“Hi, I’m Vanya, and I’ve known Nishka for about six years. We were in the same class for four years, and she was one of the first friends I made in school. Later, when our sections changed, we drifted into different friend groups, but she was always someone special to me.

Basketball was always our thing. No matter how much time had passed, we would somehow find ourselves playing together again, like nothing had changed. Those are some of the happiest memories I have with her.

During online classes, I used to message her every single day asking for the class link. She would get annoyed, but she still sent it every time, and now that’s something I smile about.

Even after we drifted apart, the random meetings in school and joking around always felt so easy and natural. The Gujarat school trip is also something I’ll always remember, because even then, there was this quiet understanding that we had each other.

Looking back, I realize we shared so many happy moments, big and small, that I’ll always carry with me.

I’ll always wish I had a little more time with her.”*
— Vanya 💕

🤍 “Nishika was one of the kindest and sweetest people I have ever known… even though we didn’t spent much time together every interaction I had with her was so warm and genuine, she always had this charm in her which made me happy. I will always remember her for her grace her beautiful smile, her wonderful nature and how she was so good in everything. She made all those little conversations we had meaningful and so amazing. She will always be remembered fondly and l am so grateful to have known such a lovely person. Love her so much”
— Sanskriti ✨

🌹 “Hi! I am Parth, Nishika's classmate
First of all I would like to say that Nishika was a great, caring and a best friend. She was always friendly with me and my other classmates, she would help us, make funny jokes and always supported us even in difficult times. Those days of friendship will always be a sweet memory for me and wherever you are right now Nishika you were truly an excellent person. May you rest in peace”
— Parth 🌼

🏸 “Nishika was a really nice friend of mine. Even though we became friends during the start of 9th grade, It didn't take much time to start vibing. I used to annoy her alot and she did get annoyed but we both laughed it off and never took it serious. Whenever me and others played badminton, she loved to join us. Talking about everything and everyone was our fav thing, gossiping about stuff. It all feels silent, and will never be forgotten by me. Thank you Nishika for making 9th B way better.”
— Sarthak 💙

✨ “She was more than just a teammate—she was a light that lifted everyone around her. Her positivity and spirit will always stay with us. Gone too soon, but never forgotten. Her smile, energy, and kindness will forever live in our hearts.
Really miss her”
— ~Jinal 🌸

🌟 “Hey so as I was saying I wasn’t really close with Nishika but I definitely admired her a lot. She was the most talented girl i’ve known, she aced her exams was good at sports and even dance which is hard to believe someone could do all this. I don’t have a specific favourite memory of us but every morning in school she would always come in the hallway with a bright smile waving to me made my day better honestly. She was like the light everyone needed”
— Shweta 💖

🏀 *“Nishika was someone who always stood out in the most beautiful way.
I remember watching her play basketball at school — she was brilliant on the court, full of energy and determination. Although I attended only a few matches with her, it was impossible not to cheer for her.

But my most vivid memory is from our dance class. Her Rajasthani solo at the international dance competition was truly breathtaking. The way she performed — so alive, so full of energy — that performance stays with me even today.

I had wished her on her birthday on Instagram, not knowing that just 24 days later, she would no longer be with us. That still feels unreal.

Some people leave footprints on your heart, and Nishika was one of them.
She will always be missed”*
— Ada~ 🌷

🏃‍♀️ “My best teammate Nishika,
She was the sweetest and most caring person I had ever met in my entire life. I usually hated the fact of someone of my grade joining athletics but once I met her, that idea forever left my mind (although she has been the one and only person I actually liked having in my team). She was so enthusiastic, fun to be around, multitalented as hell, I mean seriously I was definitely very jealous but most definitely proud of her. We often shared joyful moments together as ofc we were the best team, never lost in any of our races, that was what kept us going. We also hung out a lot during recess, but mostly during our morning practice which was obviously the BEST and also the worst time of the school hours. It was like sir had set a pattern, 2 laps of the ground= normal practice time, 6 laps of the ground= deadly but okay as not much to do afterwards and then the worst day, 1 lap, we even tried running away from practice but like hell we would do that Hindi kaun hi padhega? Itna yap krte the hum dono, especially the tea sharing while running the laps. I miss my Ace runner so much, she was my ride or die in the game, and no one can EVER replace her in my heart. Miss you so much Nishu, I hope you left us with smiling memories of everyone you love.
“And I will see you again someday in the clouds”, Rest in peace”
— Vidushi ❤️

🤍 “No words can describe how kind, loving, caring and understanding Nishika was. She was the kindest person ever, Don’t even get me started on how beautiful she was. All the time I spent with her will always have a special place in my heart, be it the trip or the founder’s day. Nishika made 8th as well as 9th very special for me and all of us. Thankyou Nishika for being my first friend in DPS and giving the new kid a chance. We will always love you Nishika”
— Yashika 🌸

👼 *“Hey Nishuuu, it’s been a month already… time really does fly, doesn’t it?

First of all, I hope you’re happy in heaven, my angel 10th grade doesn’t feel the same without you. Sometimes it feels like we’ve lost the spark our class once had. But I promise you, everyone remembers you and cares about you down here.

I still remember when I first saw you, you were literally sooo beautiful, with an even more beautiful soul. You always knew how to make someone’s day better or help them when they were down.

Yes, I miss you sooo much, but I know you’re in a better place now. Fly high, my Nishuu”*
— ~Hemakshi 💫

🎶 “Memories which I have of her with me are:
1.One time when we scored really low in maths I asked her to dance with me just to lift up the mood. We sang her favorite song"Tum se hi". Obviously we didn't know how to dance but we ended up laughing a lot so it was nice”
— Navya 💕

🌟 “We didnt spend alot of time but together but she was an amazing friend any1 she was js perfect we were together for sports day and founders day which was a huge success, nishika was not only an amazing friend but an all rounder, absolutely rocking everything especially dance 💃✨”
— Aadya 💖

🤍 “Nishika was someone whom I went with all my problems. I feel that our bond had gotten stronger last year itself, the few months of that special friendship that I had gotten with her were actually one the best friendships that I had ever had. I just feel that wherever she is, she is listening to me and my thoughts 💭💕”
— Satakshi 🌸

🍟 *“My memories with Nishika 💖

I find it really hard to put my memories with Nishika into words because there are so many of them. It’s not just one moment, but all the little things—from chatting and spamming messages to each other between classes during COVID 📱, to eating and talking in between offline classes—that made everything so special.

I also remember all those times in the canteen 🍦🍟☕, eating ice creams, fries drinking cold coffees, and many more things, just sitting and roaming here and there during the breaks. These were such normal moments, but with her, they always felt more fun and special ✨

She had a really cheerful and easy-going nature that made everything feel lighter 🌷. I’ll always cherish all these small but meaningful memories and keep them close to my heart 🤍”*
— Kavya 💕

Paurvi’s Letter to Nishika

One of my favourite memories with Nishi is definitely sitting on our bench (1st by last in our row) and laughing. We would be laughing at the weirdest and dumbest topics. I remember very well how she used to sneak in food in any period. Usko toh daat padti thi hi, saath mein hum sab fas jaate the. Khada hone ke baad bhi besharamo ki tarah hasna was our talent.

She was my partner in crime. Lunch break, dispersal, and har period ke baad ghoomna was our speciality. We used to gossip about everyone and then laugh like crazy (humne teachers ko bhi nahi chhoda). Nishi was one of the best friends I had in a very long time. I will never forget her.

Sunita Ma'am se uski daat padwana was one of my favourite things. Like, in the morning when she used to come late, I would point her out and then phir shuru hoti thi uski aur meri dono ki daat lagna. I used to call her “Bauni” a lot, and she always came up with creative replies like, “Chal phir four saal kar, aur main car mein so toh pahunchu unlike you.”

She and I used to HATE P.E. periods, but Mohit Sir always made sure that we were there. Then we used to roam around the whole ground and just talk and laugh.

I clearly remember when winter started and she was running for athletics in shorts. I scolded her so badly like a big sister because I was concerned for her as I was shivering myself. Her reply was, “OK Aunty! Pehen rahi hu leggings.” All of us ended up laughing so hard.

I love Nishi’s laugh and her smile. She has taken care of me so many times when I was about to cry, and much more. Lunch break mein takatak ghoomte hue khana was my favourite part of the day. We used to gossip about anything and everything.

She originally became my friend through Devi in 8th grade’s trip and thus began our journey. I got into a huge fight with the girl who would hang out with me, but Nishi made sure I wasn’t alone anywhere. We both were like glue (ek dusre se chipak gaye the).

There were two times when I cried on the trip, and both the times I am glad she was there for me to support and hug me.

In 9th, I was originally in 9th E and then I changed my section to 9th B. She was the happiest. I got around 16 marks in Science in UT-2, and I cried so badly. I remember she took my answer sheet and made it rise to around 20–22 marks. She was always there for me whenever I needed her, whether it was a happy day or a sad one.

She used to do Bharatanatyam while I did Kathak, and one of my biggest regrets was not making a reel of us together dancing. She used to always say, “Ek din hangout pe we will dance and make a reel.”

After our exams got over, she wanted to visit KidZania so much and have a mom’s meetup. I am just so sad and heartbroken that we couldn’t do any of that.

The last reel she sent me was an audio and video of two girl best friends. The audio contained the lyrics:

“Maahi sab chhod jaye tu na chhodna.”

I replied to her with “I LOVE YOU”, and that was the last time we spoke on text. I just think about that reel a lot and cry because I miss her.

I vividly remember the last real-life conversation we had. It was on 5th March, the SSC exam day. She had never been that happy. She was jumping because her exam went so well. Then she said that she wanted to play Holi with water, but me and Navya were against it because we still had our English exam left and didn’t want to catch a cold.

She tried so hard to persuade us, but we didn’t budge. I told her,

“English ke exam ke baad khelenge.”

She got happier then.

I just wish we had played Holi that day.

Shweta Verma Ma’am (our Pol. Sci. and Eco teacher) despised us. She used to pick on me and Nishi so much. I clearly remember Nishi saying,

“Let it be. Ek exam ke baad we will get a new and better one.”

On the day of our SSC exam, Sunita Ma’am stopped both of us and said,

“Tum dono ko toh alag sections mein daalungi 10th mein.”

I remember I was on the verge of crying, and Nishi simply said,

“Hum kuch nahi kar sakte. 11th mein section change karwa lenge application deke.”

Nishi was the most positive, kindest, laughing, and loving person.

I loved her more than anything in the world.

And Nishi, if you are reading this or my thoughts, just remember—

I love you and miss you a lot.

I hope you are in a better place with Bhagwan ji, and that He is treating you better than we ever could.

I hope you are happy and laughing like you always used to.

I love you, meri jaan.

Fly high, mera baccha.

Love, Paurvi🌷

Letter from Fatima

I remember Nishika as someone who always lit up any room with her laugh, literally. I’m not just talking about recently; it’s always been like that, even in 2nd & 3rd grade, when she’d talk and her happiness radiated off from her.

Even though we grew apart, we remained friends who would talk occasionally and laugh so much on topics such as Fashaa’s “unique” dancing skills in that Interhouse competition (that they danced amazingly in), or just casually complimenting each other in the girls’ washroom where the whole friend group would laugh like crazy people. And I can’t forget the advice asking from each other that made me appreciate her intelligence—not just academically but also emotionally.

I also witnessed her making Paurvi, Samaira, Devyanshi & Sarah feel like the best versions of themselves around her. (If you don’t believe me, ask any four of them.)

I will miss her deeply and cherish every memory of her I can recall, and I’m sure that our group will remember her every time we laugh at something stupid that anyone else would judge us for. (I can confirm this has already happened many times.)

Lots of love for you, Nishika, from here.

Fly high, little angel.

– Fatima🌷

A Letter to Nishu by Samaira

I can’t begin to explain my overwhelming feelings for my dearest Nishu, I would like to keep this note for her short but I know I wont be able to as my words will never be enough to explain all the amazing memories I had with her and what a beautiful person she was.

I first saw Nishika in 6th grade, I remember she was in 6-D. I knew she didn’t know about me at that time but when I saw her I thought she looked very pretty but mene usse uss time kuch bola nahi, I wish I told her that, that day. After that we straight away met in 8th grade, when we were in the same class. That was when we first started talking. She always used to laugh at my stupid jokes, uski hassi is one of the many things I miss so much. Eventhough we were not very close at that time, she was always kind and sweet to me. She was truly one of the most kind and cheerful person I have ever known.

9th mein aane ke baad we grew even closer through Paurvi and Devyanshi. We bonded over a shared hate for Sunita ma’am and Shobit sir as well as saying random things between class that should remain confidential for our own good :)

Bauni was the nickname we kept for Nishika, but she was always a chota packet bado dhamaka with her vibrant personality and endless number of talents. But I really miss calling her bauni because ab Paurvi mujhe bully karti hai by calling me bauni. But humari og bauni toh hamesha Nishika hi rahegi :)

I also really miss roaming around in P.E and in the corridor together, idhar udhar ghumna Nishika ka favourite kaam tha. I still think of her whenever our group goes to the canteen excitedly. Nothing is the same without you.

There are many more funny memories of her such as the vides in the spectrum fest, taking photos with Eshan’s phone in the library bathroom mirror, spilling yaha vaha ki tea during the periods and many more but I would just like to end here by saying that I miss and think about you everyday Nishika, I wish I had more time to spend with you so we could become even better friends, tujhe Paurvi aur Moulik ko ladte hue dekhne mein bahut maza aata but don’t worry, you will always be in our hearts forever and ever. This world wasn’t good enough for you. I hope you are in a better place now. I will always miss you.

Thank you so much for being such a kind and supportive friend Nishika, I will always continue to love you.

~ Samaira🌷

Dear Nishika

We only crossed paths for a year, and though we weren’t close friends, I am so glad I got to know you. It’s incredibly sad to know you are gone so soon.

I’ll always remember your kindness, the casual conversations we shared, and the bright energy you brought into the room. Our time was short, but you left behind nothing but fond memories. Thank you for the pleasant moments we shared. You will be missed, and my thoughts are with everyone who loved you. Rest in peace.
